this is the first entry since germany. i feel like i'm just starting to be able to catch up with the hours i've been keeping to do the things i want to do. the churchills have been keeping me really busy, as well as my two jobs and my desire to get out of debt. i've also been working with john a lot on new songs, mostly arranging and adding his ideas into the mix. it's nice to write with someone, but i definitely feel myself wanting to do everything myself still now and then. i think john realizes that... he seems cool about it. we've been talking about the two of us producing his own stuff sometime next year. i hope we can... that would be exciting. then he could tell me when i'm stepping on his toes too much, and i'll feel a little better. :)

i've also been working with steve wallis a lot on the songs, getting little things ironed out here and there. he's playing bass for us, and it's amazing how fast he learns songs. i gave him a cd of about 12 tunes, and in a week he had all of them learned note by note. he plays guitar and sings in his own band, buddharabbit.

last night was a cool show in a barn (benefit for muscular dystrophy) that i did two of my own songs and an eva cassidy song with helen hammerschmitt and vincent james. i had a great time hanging out with everyone afterwards. i was the youngest one there, but they made me feel really welcome and got me to loosen up a lot, via stoli and cranberry.

all the entries won't be this long, but i want to start writing a bit about each show that i play. the churchills played at maxwell's in hoboken on friday night with clever hans and no soap radio. those bands are amazing and i've really had a good time playing shows with them lately. check them out on the links page... i just redid it today. trying to get the site back into some kind of regular swing.
