it's been a long time since the last update, i know. the last 4 months have been pretty hectic with trips to jersey to work on the new churchills record, which is just getting the final tweaks in the mixes now. we're all really excited about how it turned out and will have more updates as soon as it's finished. japan is in the works for sometime this summer and possibly france too... but i'm not sure about that.
other stuff that's been going on that i'd like to post more because i've been having fun with it rather than as an excuse for not posting...
- www.thelightboxexhibit.net. the site is up... i've been writing a lot and working on the songs with john and steve. we're ready to play some shows, so i'm contacting some places about booking for this summer. they'll most likely be acoustic shows unless we can rope a drumming friend into playing with us. the site is functional, but not much content yet. i've also been brainstorming on how to get the stuff recorded. i have recording gear, but what i have on my own isn't as good as what i used to record my last solo cd (i used a combination of my equipment and bryan dale's). it's against some sort of karmic law that you can't have an old cd that sounds better than a new one. i mean, sound quality is somewhat subjective, but this is sort of an apples and oranges kind of thing. er, maybe not apples and oranges. more like... ripe apples and not so ripe apples. one is just better. ANYWAY.
- scuba certification. jamie bought me scuba diving lessons for christmas. i love it. here's a picture of me in my scuba gear. i did my certification dives in the quarry at bainbridge sportsmen's club, which was unbelievably cold, but well worth it. i'm probably going to do some dives there this summer with timmy and mark (two of the divemasters from the class) who are just obsessed with the sport in a really cool way. jamie and i have been talking about going down to ft lauderdale with her airline (very very cheap!) and taking a vacation together. i could dive, she could sunbathe, we could go out, get tipsy and watch me try to dance... it'd be good. a much needed break from everything.
- buying a new car. i bought a new car last week, and this is what it looks like. it's a hyundai accent gt and has the power upgrade. rahhhhh!!!!! i've been driving the volvo for almost 10 years now... since i started driving. it's still driveable, but not over long distances, and not until after i put a whole lot of money into it, which i decided i'd just put into the hyundai. my first car loan... *sniff sniff* mon-ay.
- i've also been taking a lot of pictures lately. i want to post some on this site soon... i'll try to update more. anyway, that's about all for now. |
