Looks like it's about 75% finished. I took a step back from a few songs when I realized that I'd been filling the tracks up a little too much to let the vocals shine. I think the big rock sound would work out a lot better if I had a more aggressive voice and a more band oriented writing style, but I've found that I like the recordings that are built around the vocals more than the ones that seem to be the normal rock formula arrangements.
I'd also been ignoring too much the way the songs were originally written, with the acoustic and voice. The acoustic parts have a lot of melodies implied in many of the songs, and to ignore that... I was abandoning what the vocals would naturally sit on. So!... I pulled back the reins on some of the songs, re-recorded the acoustics to be more prevalent and set up the studio for more airy vintage keyboard sounds to polish the songs off, rather than the big guitar sounds.
