| fri - april 25 - frauenfeld, switzerland switzerland is beautiful. wow. the gig last night was in a cool little club underneat a nicer upscale bar upstairs. there was a canal that ran next to the bar outside and bay windows on the side of it... great view. pascal, the booking guy greeted us along with his girlfriend, salome (i love that name). she spoke english pretty well and talked with us while we ate. dinner consisted of amazing cheeses with bread, fruit and mineralwasser mit gas (carbonated mineral water). oh yeah... there was a show too. :) all in all it was a tough gig. we had to take over the mixer and move amps around to minimize feedback and get a good a sound as possible in the place. i enjoyed the show a lot, but the band seemed to have a lot of problems with it... i think i was just happy because the crowd seemed to enjoy it a lot. i actually jumped off alex's bass drum during 'grave' and didn't quite achieve lift-off... moved the bass drum about a foot to the left and juggled moving it back and playing my part right. i tried it again at the end of the set, and pulled it off... that was damn fun. i probably won't try it again, cause it is a rental set and the spurs on the bass drum aren't very sturdy. oh well... did it once!! today i went to the terrace on the top of pascal's place and took some pictures of frauenfeld... again, switzerland is beautiful. a couple more days here. |
